Volunteering with Tees Credit Union is a great way to help you and your local community. There are a range of ways you can help us:
- Working with our people in the office
- Volunteering in the community, collecting money at our community points
- Giving financial help and advice to local people
Who can volunteer?
People who volunteer with Tees Credit Union come from all backgrounds and ages – from retired people to schoolchildren, people looking for work and business professionals. Some people are looking to learn new skills, or meet other people. Some love our ethical approach to services and want to use their spare time to do something really fulfilling. But they all have one thing in common….all of them want to help others locally.
We have a range of roles within the organisation to suit volunteers of all levels of experience, so there’s always some way to get involved. Full training and support is given to all our volunteers to help them make the most of the time they give, which can be from as little as an hour or two as often as they’d like. To make sure our volunteers are never our of pocket for their support we pay all reasonable out of pocket expenses too.
Why should I volunteer?
Our volunteers tell us that it’s a great feeling to help people in their own communities in a very real and direct way. Some volunteers love being able to use their talents and skills outside of work, while for others it’s a great way to learn new skills, which they can use in other parts of their lives, or make new friendships in new places. Volunteering can also help build confidence and feelings of self worth.
It can also be a fantastic way into finding employment. Volunteering can help with building social and professional skills that employers find invaluable and provide valuable work experience which looks great on a C.V! Volunteering for experience and skills shows motivation and determination.
And last but not least, volunteering with us has a feel-good factor that goes beyond just feeling useful. It’s about being part of our team, being part of the local community and delivering something bigger than just the services we offer. Give it a try, we think you’ll love it!
That sounds great. What do I do now?
Just give us a call on 01642 941911, send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or speak to one of our staff at a collection point and leave your details. We’ll arrange an informal chat about how you can get involved in supporting us and your local community.
